Ask a new question. I am not sure if OneDrive support has been ceased on Windows 7 or whether there is something specific on my system, but I am unable to run the OneDrive install executable. I get the following error:. The file you downloaded might be damaged, or there might be a problem with certificates on your PC. Please download and install OneDrive again, or search the forums on Answers.
Pursued the hint of certificates, turns out that an update released in for Windows 7 has set Windows 7 Certificate Authority certificates to be retrieved on a need basis, therefore the assumption is that, should the OneDrive setup need a particular CA certificate, Winsows 7 should be retrieving, so, that should not be a problem. Corruption of downloaded file; moved the file to another computer, not Windows 7, but it runs, therefore, the downloaded setup excutable is not corrupt.
As another note, I have something else going on that I beleive is related. When I click on "Sign in" on the top right of the application, the sign on dialog appears, type in your email address and when you click next, nothing happens. Additionally, the text box is prefilled with "Type your email address or phone number" and normally before you enter your email, when you click in to the text box, that text would disappear. Mine doesn't. I have to delete it, otherwise I am entering my email amongst that prefilled text.
Your assistance and direction is greatly appreciated. Microsoft says it will end OneDrive updates to Windows 7 and 8 in March:. It's time to switch to Windows 10 or Or forget about syncing to OneDrive if you don't. Was this reply helpful? Yes No.

Question still remains, that while Microsoft has not ceased functionality of OneDrive on Windows 7, my system cannot install it, Why? Are you able to shed any light on this matter at all?
